What were the first wooden toys ?

From the ancient civilization until today, most children could play with whatever they can find, such as wooden sticks and rocks. 

Old toys has been excavated from ancient civilizations such as small carts, whistles shaped like birds or toys that could slide down a string.

From the egyptians to the Ancient Greece and Rome, children played with dolls made from wood, stone, pottery, wax or terrcotta, with sticks, bow and arrows or the famous yo-yo.

The oldest known mechanical puzzle also comes from Greece and consisted of a square divided into 14 parts aiming to create different shapes from these pieces.

The earliest toys were made from materials found in nature, such as rocks, sticks, wood and clay. This is why a wooden toy, is so amazing, it is sustainable and can last for ages...


How could our children play with the same toys as before, and improve their intellectual development with such a simple toy ?


It can improve even more their intelligence. Toys, like play itself, serve multiple purposes and provide entertainment while fulfilling an educational role.
